Cultural assets lose their original form since they are eroded or damaged over time. The purpose of conservation science is to preserve the value and originality of cultural assets. Furthermore, conservation science involves the development of treatment methods using high-tech systems.
CAL-IN specializes in conservation of corroded metals through processes of rust-removing, stabilization, consolidation, and material storage and packaging. Once the corroded material has been restored, the original form of the metal object is recovered. We are constantly investigating new conservation methods for permanent preservation of remains by applying new high-tech equipment and chemicals to conservation.
